This notice explains how La Belle Au Bois Dormant Publishing (“we”, “us”) collects and uses personal information when you visit this website, join one of our readers’ lists or contact us. We publish romance fiction under the pen names Regina Darcy, Hope Sinclair and Montana Night, among others.
Who we are
La Belle Au Bois Dormant Publishing, Kemp House, 152-160 City Road, London EC1V 2NX, United Kingdom. Email: info@labelleauboisdormant.co.uk. We are the controller of the personal information described here.
What we collect and why
- Readers’ lists (newsletters). When you sign up we collect your email address and, if you give it, your first name. We use them to send the free book you asked for, news of new releases, offers and occasional reader extras from the author whose list you joined. Our legal basis is your consent. Every sign-up is confirmed by email (double opt-in) and every newsletter has an unsubscribe link.
- Contact form and email. If you write to us we use your name, email address and message only to reply and to keep a record of the conversation. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in answering readers.
- Website visits. Our web host keeps standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type and pages requested) for security and to keep the site running. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in running a secure website.
We do not sell, rent or swap your personal information, and we never share your email address with other authors.
Who processes data for us
- MailerLite stores our readers’ lists and sends our emails. Their emails include standard open and click tracking so we can see which emails readers find useful.
- HostGator hosts this website.
- Google reCAPTCHA may be used on sign-up forms to block spam.
Some of these providers may store or process data outside the UK. Where they do, they use recognised safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or Standard Contractual Clauses.
Links to Amazon and other retailers take you to their websites, which have their own privacy policies.
Cookies
This site uses only the cookies needed for it to work (for example, WordPress cookies when you leave a comment or log in) and those set by the MailerLite sign-up form and reCAPTCHA to deliver the form and prevent spam. We do not use advertising cookies.
How long we keep it
We keep your newsletter details until you unsubscribe. After that we keep only your email address on a suppression list so that we never email you again by mistake. We keep correspondence for up to two years, and server logs for a short period set by our host.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, object to or restrict how we use it, and take it elsewhere. You can withdraw consent at any time by clicking “unsubscribe” in any email or by writing to us. To use any of these rights, email info@labelleauboisdormant.co.uk.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk. We would appreciate the chance to put things right first.
Children
Our books and readers’ lists are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Changes
We will update this notice if the way we handle personal information changes. The date at the top shows when it was last revised.
