What is self-publishing?
Self-Publishing with LaBelle means that the author pays for, and is in total control of, the publishing process. We use our expertise to produce your work and get it into wholesale distribution channels. It will be published under our companyname; the ISBN will be registered to us but all copyright remains with the author, as stated on the copyright page of each book we print.
What is Print-on-Demand?
Print-On-Demand uses revolutionary printing technology which enables you to economically print as many or as few copies of a book as you want. Previously, the off-set method meant that it was prohibitively expensive to do small print runs. Print-on-demand has already taken America by storm. In 2009 the number of new print-on-demand titles was over double that of traditional publishers *(Footnote: Association of American Publishers).
What you need to know about LaBelle before self-publishing with us
Your book can be published in any of our formats you choose – paperback, hardcover, and electronic (epub&.mobi). In addition, you can choose to self-publish a full-colour book. You don’t need to know a lot about computers or the Internet to self-publish with us. Just how to attach and send. You can submit your completed manuscript to us as a hard copy, but we prefer submissions in electronic form (CD, disk or e-mail attachment). Submitting your manuscript in electronic form gives you, the author, more direct control of appearance and content. It is also much less expensive for you than submitting paper copies and is done swiftly from our website. To ensure that your manuscript is ready for publishing, please review your writing carefully and complete all final revisions before submission. Although you’ll be able to review a galley of your book and make revisions before it is printed, you’ll have the first copy of your book much more quickly if final editing is done before the publishing process.
Is copyrighting a book necessary before I self-publish my book with LaBelle?
Under U.K. copyright law, your self-published work is protected as soon as you put the pen to paper. Copyright is based on your creative authorship and is not dependent on any formal agreement with a book publisher or self-publishing company. For further details on UK Copyright Law simply click this link for a fact sheet from the UK Copyright Service Copyright Registration allows you, as a self-published author, a higher level of security and confidence when it comes to protecting your work. When registering work with the U.K. Copyright office, a public record is created of authorship. Even though you are protected from the moment you start writing, it is essential your work is registered with the Copyright Office to be officially recognised as the copyright holder in a court of law. At LaBelle, a self-publishing company, we understand the amount of work you’ve put into your book publishing project, and ensure that you retain all rights to the content of your book throughout the self-publishing process. We place your name where it belongs, right next to the copyright symbol on the first page of your published book. As the copyright owner, you also own the foreign rights to your book.
Do I need an ISBN number to self publish with LaBelle?
LaBelle will provide a unique ISBN number for your book at no extra charge when purchasing our premium ebook or print book packages. Once your manuscript has entered the production process, LaBelle will assign an ISBN number for each version of your book. For example, if you decide to publish your title as a hardcover with  and as a paperback, each version will have a unique ISBN number so booksellers can distinguish between the two. Your unique ISBN number will be included on the copyright page at the front of your book and incorporated into a bar code on your book’s back cover. This bar code prepares your book to be sold by retail booksellers, and guarantees your self-published title can be ordered from any bookseller in the world.

Why do I need an ISBN?
If you want to sell your book through retailers you need an ISBN and a corresponding bar code.  An ISBN, which stands for International Standard Book Number, is a standardised number used by publishers and booksellers to distinguish individual books. This enables the retailer to keep track of how many copies of your work they have sold and how much they owe you.  It also enables readers and retailers the world over to order your book and access information on it.  We will register your book with Neilsen, the ISBN registry and ensure copies of your work are sent to the appropriate copyright libraries.
Where will my book be available?
Your book will be available to any retailer in the world that orders in through Ingram as well as on Amazon and our website. If you have any more questions about self-publishing, give IsaDora a call on 0203 086 79 40 or visit our contact page .
